A message from YummyMoo's founder...

I suppose you could say my journey towards veganism began in an Asda trolley in 1998. I had always been a well behaved toddler, but during this particular shopping trip I decided to scream the supermarket down. My parents, thoroughly embarrassed, scooped me out of the trolley and cradled me as they continued their weekly shop. As the trolley filled up, I calmed down; but once again at the checkout, I started wailing. With a whole chicken in one arm and me in the other, my mother asked me what was wrong. Conclusively, I pointed straight at the chicken. I may have only been three years old, but I had made the connection.

It took me until the age of 10 to convince my parents to let me turn pescatarian. A further two years until I turned vegetarian. And an additional 13 years to make the full switch to a vegan lifestyle.

Becoming vegan at 23 years old wasn't the easiest thing in the world for somebody who was so terrible at cooking, but I made it my mission to learn everything I could in the kitchen. Very quickly I found a real passion for vegan baking and the joy that it brought to my family and friends. In recent years, I have learnt about dairy substitutes, how to get the perfect rise, buttercream piping skills, and so much more. In all honesty, it has been a joy!

Having recently completed a professional baking course at the OffBeet Cookery School, now felt like the perfect time to turn my hobby into a profession. Hence YummyMoo was born! YummyMoo vegan bakes are simply delicious and I can't wait to use them to spread a message of love and compassion for all living beings.

After all, food is the language of love.
